The Goodness in a Cup of Yogurt

Microorganisms are thought to cause harmful effects to the human body resulting to infections, diseases, and even disabilities. That is why the thought of ingesting something full of that is literally and figuratively hard to swallow. In the beginning of the 20th century, a brilliant scientist suggested that it is possible to replace the harmful bacteria in the intestines to good bacteria. And as time passed by, more and more studies have discovered further health benefits in eating probiotics, such as yogurt. Nowadays, yogurt has become more and more popular and has practically taken over the other products found in the dairy section in supermarkets. Additionally, innovations in manufacturing yogurt have been observed; just as there are so many different kinds of iPad accessories, yogurt, too, has many varieties. Delectable flavors have been incorporated to the bacteria-enriched food to enhance its palatability. If you’re not a fan of yogurt now, probably you’ll be once you read its benefits listed below.

1.       It can give you a flat stomach. According to a study conducted in the University of Tennessee, people who cut back in their diets while eating yogurt lost 22% more weight and 81% more belly fat that those who skipped yogurt. Visceral fat, or fat found in your lower abdomen, is a trigger for cortisol to be secreted by your adrenal glands. Cortisol causes an even larger belly, which can lead to an abdomen as soft as a mobile silicone case. Make yogurt an adjunct to your diet to see more results.
2.       It is rich in vitamins and minerals. Not only that yogurt is rich in probiotics, it is also packed with a number of vitamins and minerals. One serving of yogurt contains potassium, phosphorus, riboflavin, iodine, zinc, pantothenic acid, and cobalamin. Basically, yogurt is a complete food that can help meet your Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of the nutrients mentioned.
3.       It helps you recover faster after a strenuous workout. Proteins are needed to repair the different tissues of the body even after a workout session, and yogurt is of pure protein. Whenever you go for a workout, minute tears in your muscles occur that starts to manifest a day or two after your session. Yogurt is a perfect post-sweat-session snack because it provides the raw materials, amino acids, needed to relieve the soreness before it even starts to hurt.
4.       It may prevent high blood pressure. Sodium and potassium are electrolytes in the body that are indirectly proportional. Taking in more of one can cause the other to be flushed out of the body. And since sodium causes blood volume to increase resulting to high blood pressure, getting it out of the body by ingesting potassium-rich foods such as yogurt can do the trick to lower your blood pressure.
5.       It helps keep minor infections away. One study from the University of Vienna found out that digging in to four ounces of yogurt daily can render you sniffle-free in the months ahead. It has been proven that yogurt can increase the number and strengthen T cells, part of the immune system, which fights infections and illnesses.
6.       It can give you a big smile. Though yogurt contains an adequate amount of sugar, it doesn’t cause cavities. Scientists at Marmara University in Turkey found out that none of the varieties of yogurt, may they be infused with different fruit flavors, eroded the tooth enamel causing tooth decay. In fact, the lactic acid in yogurt seems to protect the gums as well. A daily serving of yogurt reduces the risk of acquiring severe periodontal diseases in the long run.
7.       It strengthens your bones. Most yogurts are made from low fat milk, which contain the micronutrients calcium and vitamin D that helps prevent osteoporosis. Yogurt can be used as a replacement to calcium supplements to provide stronger and denser bones. Plus, you get to have a smooth-flowing digestive tract since the probiotics in yogurt assist in the digestive process.

Make it a habit to have at least a serving of yogurt a day to muster all of its benefits. Aside from having it as it is, you can also use it as an ingredient in some dishes. All you have to do is do some research, and you can make your everyday meals probiolicious!

Just Plain Awesome

Life has many mysteries. Some deliver us pleasure in disguise while others, well, they are just being difficult. Then again, no one said these are insurmountable, correct? This is why we humans have struggled to enhance what can be enhanced with patience. And you know what? The solutions have turned into something incredibly awesome!

Have a look at it and tell me what you think of them. We never know, they might actually be existent in the near future.

DrinkSavvy

Everybody drinks. You do drink water, right? Well of course you do! It’s an indispensable trait for everybody. I don’t recall anybody from the past that survived with just food alone. We need liquids, and yes, not all liquids are good for us like alcohol (ahem), but it’s necessary. Too much is never good especially when in the midst of all the drinking, you get dizzy and have no idea what’s going on anymore. Oh no...that man who got you into talking put something in your drink. You shouldn’t have gone to the bar with the plans for the prestigious iPhone accessory you were entrusted to keep safe till its launch. Okay maybe that was a little too much, but friend, you’ve been drugged. You have got to be careful! Either quit drinking or try on DrinkSavvy drinkware.
DrinkSavvy goes with a cup, a straw, and a stirrer. Their drinkware comes with a special material that transforms into another color at the presence of drugs namely GHB, Rohypnol, and Ketamine. You’ll know instantly if someone is conning you or is trying to get in your pants with DrinkSavvy. Better safe than sorry friends!

Go Dutch Bill

Waiter, check please! No way are you getting away with not paying anymore, Billy! You can prevent your friend from steering away from his rightful portion of the bill with the Go Dutch Bill. This is a billing system that literally splits the bill into fractions corresponding to each order placed. No need for a calculator to divide the payment, because with Go Dutch Bill, everyone gets to pay. Shame this won’t work as a receipt for online mobile stores. Then again, it’s still a concept so the future is yet to be told.

PH Conditioner Skyscraper

This here is a great innovation if it actually came into reality. Well, it is a little scary in reality basically because it will appear as if aliens have finally arrived to take the Earth hostage. Hold your horses there people! This innovation won’t be bringing bad news for Earth. As a matter of fact, this will be Earth’s savior as it is set to erase pollution that may very well finish the planet for good if not taken care of soon. It’s called the PH Conditioner Skyscraper, a large-scale floating pollution-combating platform that handles pollutants turning them into water and chemical fertilizer. Right now, it is still a concept yet to be approved. Maybe if they change the look of the platform, things might go faster for its approval? Just saying. Ha!

Well? What do you think? The future is as exciting as it always has been. I just hope these ingenious concepts will really be put into fruition.

Till We Meet Again

Let’s go back to the good ol’ days where no later to latest mobile phones exist. Where the machines we call aren’t electricity generated and the aid of transportation is either by mere walking or with horses, camels, or *insert any four-legged animal that can support transportation here*. Some primitive age, maybe? Let’s dredge up on how people lived before the digital age, specifically, how they found their selves smitten.

·         Meeting. Of course how could you not know a person without meeting him or her personally? You’ll notice a passerby and then you’ll realize he or she is indeed more than meets the eye. So you move closer, sneaky but not in a freaky way and move even closer just to get the chance to talk to her. Sure it still happens up to this time, but what gives it a nuance is that today, people asks the other’s number before even asking for a name. So call me, maybe?

·         Serenade. One of the customs and rituals of courtship, which by the way now seems quaint and outdated or can only be seen in fancy restaurants which implies the restaurant as high end. But with todays age? Ooh, all lofty eyes on the lover. But before, heart-felt serenades are really appreciated. Ask the elders! Nowadays, I tend to notice couples share music by plugging mobile earphones to each other’s ears with only having one piece each. Refresh me what sweet is.

·         Small talks. How can one fall to the other if no means of communication is initiated? It all starts with small talks. And when the girl is being wooed, it may turn to long talks. Well, as lovers go, couples talk about everything and nothing in particular. What’s more special with couples before is that it suffices the quality time they need. Unlike now with digital age, you just keep each other’s smartphones beeping. Although there is nothing wrong with that, but it has been proven that the less quality time you spend with your loved one, the more chances of infidelity to creep into your relationship.

·         Dating. This of course is essential. In this way, you give each other time to know both of you more. But how do people date before? There weren’t devices to notify the other that he or she is going to be late or something. And nope, let’s go passed through the pagers or beepers. They affirm the time and place before they part ways—making punctuality their strong points. Be there in time or your lover will surely get mad at you. It’s never a good idea for a girl to wait so guys before values being on or before time.

Most couples these days conduct dating oftentimes on the day they want to date. “Hey baby, let’s meet tonight at blah, blah, blah.” What’s worst they even come late even if it has been said that meeting time should be sharp. Couples before deserve a hands down. And as they have shared their time together in a certain place, be it parks, or having picnics where they can feel close to nature, they never fail to utter the words: Till we meet again. And then seal the day with a kiss.
